Becker Trip Valve

The Trip Valve Assembly protects double-acting control valves from loss of supply gas pressure. In the event that the supply gas pressure falls below a minimum level, the trip valve will do one of the following:

• Lock control valve in last position
• Stroke control valve to full open position*
• Stroke control valve to full closed position*

Model Available:
Fisher Type 377 Trip Valve

• Inexpensive protection against loss of supply gas to valve actuators.
• May be retrofit to any valve actuator
• Volume tank has sufficient volume to stroke actuator a minimum of two complete cycles

• Use in conjunction with double-acting instrumentation to protect against loss of supply gas pressure
• Use only on double-acting actuators to protect against loss of supply gas pressure (Becker models RPDA and LPDA)
• Single-acting valve actuators do not require trip valve assemblies since a failure position is inherent of the actuator design
• Can be used with even the largest double-acting actuator sizes available (consult Becker for proper sizing of trip valve volume tanks)

The trip valve may be configured to do one of the following in the event of supply gas loss, and must be specified upon initial order:

• Lock control valve in last position
• Stroke control valve to full open position*
• Stroke control valve to full closed position*

Volume tanks are available in a variety of sizes to accommodate even the largest actuators manufactured by Becker. Consult Becker for proper sizing of trip valve volume tanks.

Note that single-acting valve actuators do not require trip valves for protection against loss of supply gas.
